Today a friend picked up a this chair for me. It is a red Panton Chair from the third series (1971-79). This very one is an early Fehlbaum (Vitra) production Panton Chair from this serie, dated october 1971.

I recently heard the Panton Chair was inspired by the tongue. It could makes sence. The chair were showed up at the exhibition “Visiona 0” together with the Anatomical fabric collection wich had large prints of lips, eyes, ears, hands and feets.
