It took a long time to at last get this chair – The pre-version Cone Chair from Verner Panton´s father´s restaurant “Komigen Kro” made 14:th of may 1958. Only a few chairs are what I know preserved from the time and only two chairs have the full original textile from the time. Here you see the one that ends up in the Pantonworld collection.

The “Komigen Kro” project was Verner´s first major commission where he created “Den Røde Rubin” in 5 shades of red. As you see the chair is red but the feet is orange. This chair was reupholstered two times and the foot was also repainted but under the newer textiles you see this original textile. And after carefully removing the paint you also see the original paint in orange. Partly worn down from years of use.
