OLD COLOUR TEST

This piece of pink matte paper comes from Mr Lüber and it was the colour test for making the coloured shells in Verner Pantons aluminium version of the Fun lamps. I have a prototype of this lamp and the colour is similar but not exactly the same. The material is very different so I […]

LUBER POSTER – FROM SWEDEN

I got some cool stuff today. To begin with I would like to show you an original Lüber lamp poster from around 1970. It is printed on a little thicker papper and shows the Ball and Spiral lamps. I just realised another interesting thing. This poster comes from the home of J. Lüber […]

AUBERGINE ROOM

Just some quick pictures from the aubergine room. I changed all lamp bulbs to the lower 25 watt just to try. It looks very good with the matching intensity of the lamps but I need some other light as well because it gets very dark. I also tried with a formation of Topan lamps. That […]

PANTON IN MOVIE

A friend gave me these screenshots from the Charles Bronson movie “10 to midnight” from 1983. If you have a look at the wall you will see a framed fabric “Curve I” in cognac colours.

25 WATT

A friend gave me this cool info about the Spiral and Ball lamps from J. Lüber. It says how to put together the lamps but also another info I never seen before. It says that you should use lamp bulbs with 25 watt if you want the best colours. I have used 40 watt or […]

SOME IDEAS

I am testing two ideas here. First to make the chromed SP2 into a SP3 instead but also to cover the complete wall with a large mirror. This will make the room look twice as big and there will be “more” of every lamp and furniture.

WONDERLAMP BOX

I just realised that I got the Wonderlamp in a cardboard box wich has been the “home” of this lamp since january 1980! It says it has been packed that month and year (in german) wich means that it hasn´t seen any daylight for over 35 years.

MIRRORS

The Mirror Sculpture prototype are in the aubergine room now as well. I will re-order the room a little. The lamp positions are not that good. One idea is to cover the wall in the back completly with mirrors from the floor to the ceiling. The room would then feel longer. Verner did this in […]
