Here comes the other Panton piece I picked up yesterday.
This early version Spiegel Lamp is made out of steel and was made in 1968. It is the same material as in the lamps at Der Spiegel publishing house. Some other cool details are the original Louis Poulsen mounting and electric plug with a switch.
Louis Poulsen who made them, later changed the material into lighter fiberglas and aluminium because it was both expensive to make them and hard to transport them.
This very lamp has been in the familly home of a danish architect, Helge Holger Hoppe, from this time. Helge was the designer for TV Byen and Lufthavn Byen in Copenhagen. I really appreciate to have this piece in the collection, especially now when I know the provenance of it.
