My little assistant Julian helped me with the last Circus building seats today. I have during some weeks with a lot of work removed the wooden panels and saved the Bolivia furnishing fabrics from a lot of seats. My plan is to use these fabrics later since it is the same type as were used in Panton’s early furniture.
A cool detail under one of the seats was that several people had signed it! Those signatures are probably from 1984 when the Circus building was re-designed by Verner Panton. The original seats/chairs was built in 1920 according to old newspaper found inside them.
I have choosen out the best seats, cleaned them and saved a large sofa in all the possible colours plus an extra complete spare seat in every colour.
Here is how some of the approximatelly 55 seats looked like before I started.
