SOME NEW FABRICS

This fabric came in the mail some days ago. I already have one of this but it is really cool!

The pattern looks a lot like the Roulette carpet. Here Verner has used 7 colours instead of 8 that he usually worked with in his multicolour system.

Also the colour “yellow” and “green” has been used instead of the “carmin”, “aubergine” and “turquise” in his 8 colour system.

Then we have a pair of curtains (originally sewn by MIRA-X) in red velour.

They have some aubergine velour fabrics on the backside to become heavier and to not let the light pass through them.

  1. Hi Niklas! Thank you for your amazing webpage. I own the 7-colour Roulette fabric stretched on its original pine frame. I bought it in the USA in the late 1960s at a Scandinavian furniture and furnishings store. It has been my wall ever since, following me from university to immigration to Canada, first in apartments, then in my own home (one, then another, and another). Now I enjoy it on the wall in my down-sized retirement place in Vancouver. I have given away and sold many furnishings, but not “The Dots”. There has never been an accident over all these years, but of course the colours have faded and the background cotton canvas has yellowed a little. Still, the design offers me peace and hope with its satisfying rhythm and balance. I love it now as much as ever. And now, thanks to you, I know to be grateful to the great designer Verner Panton whose chairs I certainly recognize. Thank you for celebrating great design with full credit to the makers. Best wishes, Carolyn
